Amplified Nevada Native Youth (ANNY) seeks to provide a roadmap to support Native students in virtual learning platforms. This website will serve as a resource hub for students, families, and educators to gather college and career materials.

Designed with Paiute Students in Mind


Program Activity

The Cultural Program takes place in the month of November during Native American Heritage Month. During Native American Heritage Month, the students will prepare, plan & engage in creating a Native American Event that takes place at the Yerington High School during the month of November. The students will help promote & plan the Native American Heritage Event that includes Paiute Traditions & Culture but also Traditional Paiute Dances & Contemporary Powwow Dances that can be seen within our Tribal Communities of Nevada. Students will help nominate Past, Present & Future Yerington High School Alumni and honor those individuals during the event. Students will also help create Posters of YHS Alumni to showcase within the Yerington High School during Native American Heritage Month. During the Native American Heritage event, we will be honoring YHS Alumni or individual/s of the graduating class of 2022 in the contribution of the continued efforts of each individual as each have contributed to promote healthy living and leadership as well as family values, sports leadership or cultural values that can be carried onto future generations. 


Mentoring Services

(Cross Country Coaching)

This educational support service will provide up to five (5) students the opportunity to be mentored and coached by Lupe Cabada. Coach Cabada has over 10 years of coaching, 20 years of running and competing. Training Peaks level 2 Accredited Coach, USA Track and Field-Level 1 Accredited Coach, VDOT 02 Certified Coach, NHFS Interscholastic Track and Field Coach, ISSA Certified Strength Coach and current Damonte Ranch HS XC/Track Head Coach since 2014. 

Students will train in cross country and have the opportunity to compete at the Nike Cross Country Regionals in Tempe, Arizona; Footlocker Cross Country Regionals in Walnut Creek, California and then if qualified on to the Footlocker Cross County Nationals in San Diego, California. 


Language Class

This course is designed for first year Paiute students to provide students with a communicative-based foundation in the Paiute language. Students will learn the basic alphabet, pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence structure and cultural aspects of the Paiute language. They will develop an understanding of the Paiute culture and learn how to function within that culture in an appropriate manner. Issues regarding the importance of preserving the language will also be addressed.



A comprehensive, customizable ACT prep program that caters to the learning style, testing abilities, and scheduling needs of each individual student. Our combination of in-person instruction, and online review, will ensure that your child--whether he or she is a first-time test-taker or a high-scorer looking for a perfect 36--gets the test prep necessary to succeed on test day.



Tutors provide academic instruction to individuals or small groups outside of the classroom. They help students to improve their grades, understand difficult concepts, receive extra help to catch up with classroom lessons, prepare for college, and get ready for formal standardized examinations.

The College and Career Coach will be responsible for helping high school students define their college or career aspirations and identifying programs and/or training to meet those aspirations and achieve their educational goals.  The College and Career Coach will empower students to make informed decisions regarding career and educational plans in preparation for success in post-secondary education and training.  College and Career coach will also assist with applications, financial aid and fees.


Success Coach

The Academic Success Coach helps students develop skills, behaviors and habits that contribute to success in middle school to help prepare for high school. These includes academic and career goal setting, learning strategies, time management and organization, self-regulation, and


College Career


Dual Enrollment Courses


Two camps, one intermediate age and the other high school age, that will have cultural presentations that will consist of the Nevada as well as the Great Basin Native American history.  There will be storytelling, history sharing, and Native American arts

and crafts.

Cultural Camp

For junior and senior ACE participants that want enroll in college courses while still attending high school. Students will receive credits towards high school as well as credits towards first year college requirements. Like the Jump Start Program.  Earn high school diploma along with Associates degree in college.


Summer Educational
Enhancement Program

This service will help 7th/8th graders prepare for the math and science classes in high school.  This service will also help those 9th/10th graders that are behind and credit deficient in math and science.  Students will also be given the opportunity to travel to historical sites and learn about the Great Basin Native American history.  Paiute Language and cultural crafts will also be implemented.  


This service will be for all ACE participants that need transportation to and from activities, tutoring sessions, testing, off campus schooling, and cultural activities in the surrounding areas.



This will assist students with all sports pack fees, and all other items need for the student to successfully participate in school sports activities.  This will include but is not limited to sport pack fees, purchasing of equipment, shoes, and clothing.


This will assist students taking certain classes which incur a fee, or special equipment.  This will include but is not limited to: Lab fees for CTE classes, purchasing of supplies and PPE need for classes, rentals for band equipment, etc..

This service will be for students that want to take credit classes in summer for either advance placement or make up credit loss or take an elective class that may not be offered at the high school.
