College & Career Support Services

The College & Career Coach (CCC) will provide students, parents, teachers and support staff with information and resources to support college and career pathway education, access, and planning.

 

CCC Meetings: One-on-one 1 hour *virtual meeting monthly with students and parents to develop goal setting, college and career portfolio, and discuss academic and personal milestones.

 

FAFSA Workshops: CCC will host two Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshops in collaboration with financial aid service representatives to walk through the FAFSA application, overall federal financial aid opportunities, and any additional requirements.

ACT and SAT Preparation: CCC will work with student to participate in studying for the ACT and SAT tests in consideration for admission to various programs of study.  This includes all practice materials and course enrollment fees.

 

Student Study Skills and Testing: CCC will provide additional support and access to virtual platforms to assist in test preparation, access to digital resources, hard copy materials, and strengthening study skills. Includes testing fees. 

 

Scholarship Workshops:  CCC will host two college Scholarship Workshops to review the application process of an academic scholarship, review essay writing tips, tracking tools, and maintaining scholarship awards.

Transitioning to College/Career:  Individualized virtual or in-person unlimited sessions working with student and family to focus on the summer before college/career program and the first year to ensure a successful transition to college/career program.  Developing a plan of success through a strong foundation of health, cultural identity, developing your on campus and off campus network of support, and financial planning.  Various materials both digital and relevant texts will be provided to student and family to reference and utilize.

Class Amount: Up to $1,000

Eligible Students: 11th-12th Grade (Limit 20 Senior Priority)

ACE program is for all 5th-12th grade Native American students enrolled in Yerington Intermediate or Yerington High School. Amounts listed are the value of the program per student.  Students Do NOT pay, ACE will pay all providers.  Students must choose services on website.

 

We are open and searching for more providers of any type of service that would be beneficial to our students’ education.  If you have recommendations or know of any please let us know.
